Does Maggi Actually Cook In 2 Minutes?

According to Nestlé’s claims, MAGGI Noodles is a part of about 70% of urban Indian households and with more than 2.5 Bio serves that are consumed by people every year (2x Indian population). Honestly, we are not surprised, are we? Maggi for us Indians is an emotion, and what more, it is also gaining popularity among foreigners.

We have all grown up watching the ‘Made in 2 minutes’ commercials of Maggi but we all know it’s practically not possible. Making plain Maggi requires at least 10 minutes, for the flavours to actually combine well with the noodles. Making fusion Maggi, on the other hand, either with vegetables, meat, or cheese definitely requires a little more time as the ingredients need to cook well.

Unfortunately, non of this can really happen within 120 seconds. Irrespective of the cooking time, Maggi will always be the go-to food for children, college students, broke hostlers, bachelors, or just about anyone. Here are 2 fun fusion recipes of Maggi:

Maggi Pizza

For Maggi base:

  • 1½ cup water
  • 2 pack Maggi tastemaker
  • 2 pack Maggi noodles
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tbsp butter

For toppings:

  • 2 tbsp pizza sauce
  • 2 chopped capsicums
  • 3 sliced tomato
  • 6 tbsp mozzarella cheese
  • Few sliced olives
  • ¼ tsp mixed herbs
  • ¼ tsp chili flakes
  • 2 tbsp sweet corn
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1. In a large wok pour 1½ cup water and add 2 Maggi tastemaker packs and let it boil.
  2. Break 2 Maggi noodles packs and mix well. boil for 2 minutes or until the noodles soften.
  3. Add 1 tbsp cornflour and mix well (cornflour gives your dish a crunchy base). Cook for a minute or until there is no more water left.
  4. In a pan spread 1 tbsp butter and transfer the Maggi. Spread the Maggi uniformly forming a pizza base.
  5. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Make sure to keep the flame on low else the
    base will burn. Cook until the base turns crisp and then flip it over gently.
  6. Spread 2 tbsp pizza sauce and top it with 4 tbsp mozzarella cheese. Spread the mentioned vegetables on top of the cheese and further sprinkle ¼ tsp mixed herbs, ¼ tsp chilli flakes and add 2 tbsp sweet corn.
  7. To make it more cheesy, add 2 tbsp of mozzarella cheese. Spread 1 tsp olive oil on sides, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes or until the cheese melt completely. Finally, slice the Maggi pizza and enjoy it while it is hot.

Maggi samosa

This recipe is so easy and such a different take of the good old samosa. All you have to do is cook Maggi but making sure it is dry and not soupy. Let it cool. Then, take the ready-made samosa patties and fill them up with the cooked Maggi. Deep fry. There you have it, two of the most fulfilling snacks to enjoy with your family.
