Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Easy Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies For Toddlers And Kids

We all love to bake. Although we get extra motivation when the recipe is as healthy as it is a delight to eat. This recipe is perfect for kids and families. The use of rolled oats instead of regular flour only adds to the texture and its nutritional value. The cookies are crunchy and chewy at the same time. Let's get baking!

  • ¼ Cup of unsalted butter (at room temperature)

  • ⅓ Cup of regular granulated sugar

  • ⅓ Cup of brown sugar

  • ½ tsp of baking soda

  • 1 tsp of cinnamon

  • A pinch of salt

  • 1 Egg

  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

  • ¾ Cup of rolled oats

  • ¾ Cup of whole wheat flour or any gluten-free flour

  • ½ Cup of desiccated coconut

  • ½ Cup of chocolate chips

Cookie dough

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius.

  • Using an electric mixer or a whisk, beat the soft butter in a large mixing bowl for 1-2 minutes.

  • Add the egg and vanilla to the mixture slowly and beat again.

  • Add the sugar and mix until fully dissolved,

  • Now add all the dry ingredients to the mixture.

  • Scoop out small balls of a teaspoon size and place them 1 inch apart on a greased baking tray or lined with butter paper.

  • Bake for 10 minutes in the oven until it forms a golden colour.

  • Cool completely on the wire rack.

You can store the cookies in an air-tight container for 3-4 days and can freeze the cookies for up to 2-3 months. You can also add whatever is available in your pantry with the mixture of chocolate chips such as any dry fruit or dried berries, etc.
